17) <\/span>What to be careful when purchasing brake hoses?<\/u><\/span><\/h5>\n

Nowadays a large number of brake hose brands are present on the market, but whichever you choose, take great care to check the following:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Make sure the product is certified to FMVSS 106 regulations by a registered certification agency (the best known are the German T\u00dcV and the American DOT) to ensure it meets all technical standards necessary for the correct functioning of your braking system hose.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Check that the certification actually applies to the specific product you are buying given that there are several widely available products on the market that are somewhat misleading. The certification is only valid when the name of the company listed in the certificate appears on the junction between the hose and the fitting. Printing the name of the company on the package or on the hose is not enough.\u00a0You can be sure that the brake hose has been assembled and tested according to regulations only if the name is engraved on the pressing point: in all the other cases you are buying a product of unknown origin or a counterfeit product.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Check that the firm brand is reported on every fitting junction of the kit, otherwise you are relying on a product that does not respect the safety standard.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. If you are purchasing FREN TUBO original product<\/span>, the full brand name is legible when holding the fitting upright and turning it slowly.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Be careful of misleading advertising and the technique of persuasion!<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1st EXAMPLE OF MISLEADING ADVERTISING:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cThe use of aluminium alloy fittings is dangerous for the motorcyclist and the consequential weight reduction is such a small difference that there is no incentive for endangering ones live.<\/span><\/p>\n

    FREN TUBO, regarding the quality of aluminium alloy fittings producer, is strongly offended by this insinuation because safety has always been the priority number one for FREN TUBO.<\/span><\/p>\n

    The quality of a product is measured against criteria laid down in FMVSS 106 international regulations, hence it is wrong to promote one’s own products by spreading unfounded alarm.<\/span><\/p>\n

    2nd EXAMPLE OF MISLEADING ADVERTISING:<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

    \u201cSteel, Kevlar\u00ae and carbon are unsuitable materials to use for the construction of brake hoses\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

    What do we say?<\/span>
    \nWhen FREN TUBO first started manufacturing brake hoses with stainless steel braiding it was thought that such material would have never passed road tests.<\/span><\/p>\n

    That was 30 years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Nowadays numerous companies are producing brake hoses with stainless steel braiding and they have been certified too.<\/span>
    \nThe same phenomenon happened when FREN TUBO started manufacturing and then achieved the certification for Kevlar\u00ae and carbon braided hoses.<\/span><\/p>\n

    FREN TUBO policy is not to criticize our competitors products for the sole purpose of promoting ours, rather we prefer to use that energy to further improve our products!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
