It was a weekend to remember for the Beta Tools SpeedRS Team at the Catalan Grand Prix, which ended with an extraordinary second-place finish by Celestino Vietti and Luca Lunetta’s first top-10 finish in Moto2.
Vietti confirmed all the potential he had shown right from the first sessions of the weekend. Starting from pole position, the Piedmontese rider immediately took the lead, setting a blistering pace and leading the pack for most of the 21 laps on the Catalan track. Only in the final stages, with three laps to go, did a sudden drop in performance prevent him from fending off Gonzalez’s attack, forcing him to relinquish the lead. Celestino, however, fought hard right up to the checkered flag, securing a valuable second-place finish that also allows him to move up to third place in the overall standings.

It was also a positive weekend for Luca Lunetta, who delivered his best performance of the season. Starting from tenth on the grid, the Italian rookie managed a long and hard-fought race with composure, making up ground after a less-than-perfect start. Lap after lap, the No. 32 rider showed increasing confidence on the Boscoscuro, finishing in ninth place and securing his first top-10 finish in the intermediate class.
The Beta Tools SpeedRS Team’s activities will continue as early as Tuesday with a day of official testing, which is important for continuing their work ahead of the season’s upcoming rounds.

CELESTINO VIETTI #13: P2 “I’m really happy for myself and for the team: we’ve worked really hard. It’s a shame we lost the race in the final laps, but Manu did a better job managing his tires and had a bit more left in the tank at the end. Now we’ll make the most of the test, working on a few details so that when we get to Mugello—which is like home to me—we’ll be even more motivated and ready to do well”.
LUCA LUNETTA #32: P9 “I’m very pleased with this first top-10 finish in Moto2: we finished in ninth place and gained a lot of experience. It was a long race, but we improved a lot over the weekend, and the team did an amazing job. I’m also happy with the progress I’m making on the Boscoscuro—a bike I’m getting to know better and better lap after lap and race after race. I think we’re getting very close to the leaders, and in terms of bike feel, I’m feeling more and more comfortable. We’re on the right track, so thanks to everyone on the team and our sponsors. On Tuesday, we’ll have a very important test to try out some new setups, adapt even further, and keep making progress. I can’t wait to get back on the track and arrive at Mugello even more fired up”.
