PRESS RELEASE: 10 March 2020 | Jerez Test Day 1
Day 1 of the Official FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup Test in Jerez is over. The Energica Ego Corsas are back on track with new technical items to try before the start of the 2020 season, which include among other parts, new Ohlins front fork and new Michelin tyres.
It was a good first day of testing for both LCR E-Team riders in Jerez, with Xavier Simeon 6th in the last session (ending up at 7th overall ) and Niccolò Canepa in 9th place on today’s combined results.
Canepa completed a total of 23 laps across the three sessions while Simeon completed 19 laps. Both riders are positive about the progress made during the day and the team plan is to continue to work on the bikes’ set up and race distance simulation in order to be fully ready for the start of the 2020 FIM Enel MotoE™ World Cup.
Niccolò Canepa – 9th
(1’49.944 – Best Lap)
“It’s been good to be back on the Moto E bike today. Last time, I had a huge crash in Valencia, so I took it easy in the first couple of sessions today, just to get the feeling back. I am feeling good, I am enjoying the bike, the weather here is fantastic and will be great for the next 2 days.”
Xavier Simeon – 7th
(1’49.236 – Best Lap)
“This has been a very good first day with the team. The feeling with the bike came back directly after two laps. We will try to improve the setting of the bike for the rest of the test sessions, and also improve my riding style and try to continue improving and enjoying”
