2019 LCR E-TEAM LIVERY REVEALED IN BRESCIA

PRESS RELEASE: 27 February 2019 | Brescia (Italy)

Motorcycle racing welcomes a new era with the launch of the MotoE Championship (officially the FIM Enel MotoE World Cup) in 2019 and yesterday evening, at Areadocks Club in Brescia (home town of the major sponsor IVAR), the brand-new LCR E-Team unveiled the Energica motorbikes that Randy De Puniet and Niccolò Canepa will ride at the five rounds scheduled in the MotoE calendar (Jerez dela Frontera, Le Mans, Sachsenring, Spielberg and Misano).

Media, partners, 2wheel fans and friends joined Lucio Cecchinello, De Puniet and Canepa for the inaugural party hosted by IVAR, leading company in the sector of plumbing and heating components, focused on innovation and sustainability.

Lucio Cecchinello (LCR E-Team Principal): “It’s a pleasure for me to be here tonight with all these people to launch this new project. Low-noise, zero-emission motorcycles powered by renewable energy sources represent part of the racing future and this project is a new challenge in my career. Randy and Niccolò are two of the most talented and experienced riders in the motorcycling field and, together with a highly specialized technical staff, I am sure we can be amongst the protagonists of the upcoming MotoE World Cup. A special thanks goes to our major partner IVAR for believing in this new exciting chapter and to all the other LCR E-Team supporters (Agos, Frentubo, Carpimoto and furthers to be announced soon)”.

Randy De Puniet

“For me it’s a special feeling because LCR Team was my family for five years and I have my best racing memories with them, so coming back is simply great. I tried the bike six months ago in Le Mans but the second time I jumped on it I could feel the difference. They did an incredible job and it’s like riding a standard bike. I know people think that electric bikes seem boring because we are used to the roar of other bikes but I can promise this championship will be fun for the 2wheel fans and I am sure we are going to see exciting battles every race!”

Niccolò Canepa

“The first time I rode this bike I was positively impressed and I think they have done an incredible job. Despite the unusual weight its’s a very handling bike and my first ride was very smooth and I had fun. In my opinion it’s fundamental to know all the racetracks and to be very physically prepared like me and Randy. Then we have the fortune to work with a very expert technical staff which is the reason why I chose LCR E-Team. I think all together we can make the difference”.

Stefano Bertolotti (IVAR CEO): ”Me and my family have always had a huge passion for motorbikes, but there is also a precise Company strategy behind our decision to join MotoE: in the last 2 years we have been working intensively in order to increase IVAR’s Brand Awareness, also thanks to sport sponsorships that share our same values. MotoE and the LCR E-Team are a perfect fit for us: they are all about technology, innovation, dynamism, sustainability and environmental care, just like we are. This project is a sort of “bet” that we take with great enthusiasm: here at IVAR we love challenges!”

Paolo Bertolotti (IVAR CEO): “Personally speaking, I really care about environmental sustainability and “circular economy”, and I try to bring this vision in our Company every day, when it comes both to big investments (such as installing photovoltaic panels on top of all our facilities) and daily measures (for instance we drive hybrid cars, use packaging made by recycled material, use electric vehicles for transportations inside the Company). There is a lot to do to preserve the environment, as individuals and as an enterprise, but we are proud to say we are a “zero emission” Company!  MotoE clearly support this cause: this is a revolution in motorsports and we want to be part of it, since the very beginning!”
