Beta Tools Speed Up team with Jorge Navarro took the first podium of the season and the first in Moto2 for the rider, who achieved with gritted teeth a fantastic third place at the Grand Prix of the Americas.
A very positive weekend since the first laps on track for Navarro who was very fast and competitive on his Speed Up SF19T. He took the second row on the grid in Saturday’s qualifying, then in the warm-up he and his staff made some changes to the braking gaining more confidence in driving. When the traffic lights went out, the Spaniard struggled in the early laps until he found stability to push more and start to climb up to the third step of the podium.
Unlucky race instead for Fabio Di Giannantonio that crashed out shortly after the start following the contact with another rider. Too bad for the result at the end of the race, but team and rider are coming back home aware of the progress achieved thanks to the hard work done this weekend and confident to do well already from the next appointment with Moto2 to be held at the warm Jerez circuit de la Frontera from 3 to 5 May.
